MicroAid Builds a Family Compound for Betty — 2015
On the east coast of the island of Samar, an area that is in the direct path of Pacific typhoons, especially Haiyan (2013) and Ruby (2014), many people were left homeless.
Betty’s house was almost completely destroyed by the typhoon in 2013, and she was unable to rebuild. She was widowed a few years before and was just barely able to support her four daughters, one son, and three grandkids. She had no recourse after the typhoon damaged most of her house and destroyed her daughter’s and her husband’s next door. That's when MicroAid showed up.
