Jon Ross in Columbia University Alumni Magazine
Years ago, when I had just started MicroAid International, my alma mater, Columbia University, did a profile of me in the alumni magazine. At the time, I knew what I wanted to do, but I was just beginning.
Now, four years later, they did a follow-up interview to see how things are going.
Over the years, MicroAid has built a lot of safe and comfortable, permanent homes for disaster survivors after they lost theirs in a flood, typhoon, earthquake, or tsunami—and after the world’s attention has moved on.
I am honored that Columbia recognizes that work and my effort to make it happen.
I, for my part, am grateful to all the people who have supported MicroAid and offered their heartfelt encouragement. Thank you.
Also, I recently wrote a piece for Medium.com, highlighting the need to remember disaster survivors after the world’s attention has moved on.
I hope you and your family are healthy, happy, and secure.
