MICROAID’s educational goal is to foster understanding and compassion in the United States, particularly among students and children, for people whose lives have been adversely affected by man-made and natural disasters. Lectures, slide shows, and videos of MICROAID activities are made available to schools and other organizations. Once or twice a year, MICROAID project managers lead trips to various regions of the world not only to highlight immediate needs but also to afford participants a first-hand encounter with its people and some of the complex issues that characterize their experience.
